WHAT HAPPENS IN AN EYE EXAM?

Eye examinations include a combination of eyesight and eye health tests. The visual acuity test is there to determine which kind of vision you have and whether you need a prescription.

Eye health tests including retinal imaging to examine the eye in detail to determine if any eye conditions are present or if the eyes are in ill health. Your optometrist will also gather some information about your lifestyle and medical history – this helps them to provide personalised eye care based on your specific needs.

If you come to the examination with a particular concern or set of symptoms, your optometrist will also discuss possible causes and help you to find a solution.

TAKING CARE OF YOUR EYE HEALTH

At Ladybrook Eyewear, our goal is to ensure that each of our patients gets the eye care and reassurance they need to enjoy everything life has to offer. The most important part of managing eye health is having regular eye exams so that any issues can be diagnosed and corrected quickly.

However, there are plenty of things you can do on your own to take care of your eyes like improving your diet or stopping smoking. We aim to keep all of our patients informed so they can improve their personal eye health with our help.

ENHANCED EYECARE WITH OCT

To provide the best care you need the best equipment. Included in our array of equipment is an OCT scanner.

An Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) scanner is a cutting-edge piece of equipment designed to create more detailed imagery of the different layers in the eye.

The procedure is non-invasive and uses a special light to create a 3D digital image. An optometrist can then examine the image to check for eye conditions and assess macular health.

We offer OCT scans as part of an advanced eye examination to provide a more in-depth evaluation of eye health.
